I love my partner, my cameras and the sea.

"Bird’s Flight"

I saw this bird in the wood & had to give it life.

36.5” x 4.5” watercolor & acrylic on plywood.

I saw this bird in the wood. It’s time to bring it to life.

To New Beginnings: as March begins I’ve started an all out cleanse. It’s time to focus and get down to business. I’ve got a lot to prepare for this year, big changes in my life that I can’t wait to start. So if it seems like I’ve disappeared don’t worry my friends, all is well I’m just out living life. I’ll see you all soon. Aloha. (at City of Garden Grove)

Looks like Saturday is shaping up to be a big day. Surfline says 8-12ft, GlassyPro says 18. Either way it can’t and won’t be missed.

The last few days have resulted in some awesome art. I started and completed my first wood block carving/watercolor, which I made with just some dull old knives I had laying around, as well as a sand dollar piece I did for a friend.

Also I happened to luck into a complete set of carving tools. When talking to my folks about the Octopus piece my mom had mentioned she had the exact carving tools I needed to more wood block work.

I’m totally loving and having so much fun with these pieces outside of my photography and can’t wait to make more.

Keep an eye out.

The last month I’ve been trying out the newest photo sharing/portfolio site, Exposure.  Since posting there I’ve been lucky enough to have my work featured on the sites homepage.  Every time I’m totally stoked and completely honored.
So on to what I think of the site and honestly so far I’m really loving it.  The way they lat out a story, which they call narratives, has a nicer feel to it than on tumblr.  Also the fact that they’re gearing visual artist to creating a story out of your images.  Which is how I’ve always loved posting my work.
Though there are some features that I want them to add, like tagging for google searches (which maybe I’m just missing) , and design options so I can make my site more personalized, but all in all I really like it and am thinking of eventually switching to Exposure as my blogging platform.
